BRUCE COCKBURN WITH A TWIST
-- In The Name of All That's Sacred, I'm...Tired Of The Gunfields --

Rewrite of "Lord Of The Starfields," by Nigel Parry

Editor's note: Written at the end of a five-week long flame-war over the issue of gun control, that sprang up on the Humans mailing list.

Tired of the gunfields
An ancient story
Will someone please send
A post full of cheer?

Warriers of the listserv
Begin your end
Before one of the others
Shoots you stone dead

O enough admiring guns
My stomach's churning

Tired of the gunfields
It's too short a time
To spend it in discord
When dat Bruce's chords sound fine

Voice of the new thread
Make me say, "Phew!"
All of my yearning
Sent in bits and bytes to you

O enough admiring guns
My stomach's churning
