A decade had passed since Bruce Cockburn’s last appearance at Calvin College, when he participated in the fourth “Festival of Faith & Writing”, but the large crowd in the Fine Arts Center there was welcoming.

With a chuckle Bruce got things under way by thanking the audience for actually attending the concert instead of simply downloading it! What followed was another tour-de-force concert that displayed Bruce’s penchant for performing many songs differently from their album versions.

Before playing This Is Baghdad Bruce made a few remarks about the Iraq War, stating that we need to “get rid of” the people that had started it. He was called back for three encores. Prior to Peggy's Kitchen Wall Bruce mentioned that the Peggy in the title had passed away the previous week, “far too young.”
