The Memphis Church of the Holy Communion's Coffee House series is held in the church hall; 250 tickets were sold. One third of the crowd were solid Bruce fans, one third had a passing knowledge and one third never had heard of him. By the intermission everyone had become a Bruce fan (except for one old grumpy man who especially frowned at This Is Baghdad and Tell The Universe).

Bruce was really chatty and interacted with the crowd a lot. Played 3 acoustic guitars and got as much out of reverb as anyone possibly could. There was a lot of shaking of heads in disbelief at how much sound one man could draw out of 6 strings and outright awe when Bruce played the 12 string.

The church donated a goat to a needy third world family in his honour through the Heifer International Organisation. Bruce seemed very pleased and joked about this female goat named Bruce.

All and all a great, intimate show.
