Bruce Cockburn performing at the 25th Anniversary of the Lyell Island blockades

28 November 2010 - On November 13, 2010, the Haida Nation is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Lyell Island blockades (the origin of Stolen Land) and Bruce is an honoured guest and performer. Bruce performed Lovers in a Dangerous Time, Waiting for a Miracle and Stolen Land.

At the end of his performance, Bruce was given a gift (a vest). The vest has the design of the crest of the Council of the Haida Nation and it is a great honour to receive such a gift. Each piece of the design is cut out individually and hand-appliqued using the techniques for making button blankets.
