    COMMENTS/FURTHER INFORMATION

Submitted to the Project by Lorraine J:

Bruce played right after Richard Thompson. The weather was cool and cloudy, so when Bruce finished Mistress Of Storms he said, "That was called... Mistress of Storms" [Looked up at clouds cautiously several times, until the audience "got it."]

Bruce also had a steel guitar on stage, but he didn't play it. He seemed a bit frustrated at the time constraints.

This was the first year that the Newport Folk Festival went on tour. Other artists on the bill that day included Beausoleil, Mark Eitzel, Marc Cohn, Wilco, John Hiatt, Joan Baez, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones and Nancy Griffith.
