The Rainbow didn't have the greatest ventilation system and whenever possible the back doors (behind the stage) were left open to provide some air. It was pretty cold that night and Bruce kept having to retune, complaining that the cold air was messing with his strings. At one point in the show, he talked a bit about the political situation, something to the effect that the US had mobilized an Airborne division to Central America and we should pay attention to this stuff. Somebody in the crowd yelled something to the effect of, "Shut up and play!" and Bruce retorted that it was his stage and he could talk about what he wanted to talk about.
